Early On - At 19 years old, I began volunteering at a hospital system during the summer. I would shadow providers and pharmacists on the floors, or I would organize and transport various items between departments. It was a great experience. And what I enjoyed the most was serving others and knowing that I could make a difference
College and Graduate School – I thought the only way to make a difference and to have any impact was to become a provider. Unfortunately, I never achieved that goal. I was quite upset and embarrassed. What can I do to help others? What is my interest and expertise? It took time to realize there are many "non-traditional" pathways
Above and Beyond – The "non-traditional" path that I choose was a combination of healthcare management and disruptive technology. This intersection is not only rewarding but also there is the potential to impact thousands and perhaps millions of lives all at once. It has lead to many wonderful opportunities, such as writing thought leadership pieces, serving on a medical clinic's board, and creating this site
